2020 MTV VMA 颁奖典礼在稍早正式顺利落幕，尽管许多演出在这一年期间受到疫情冲击而暂缓，但多得串流媒体平台的盛行，歌迷在家亦能即时欣赏到新作，将音乐产业受到的冲击降至最低。而本年度典礼也同样采用线上方式举行，并找来 Lady Gaga、Ariana Grande、The Weeknd、BTS、DaBaby、Miley Cyrus 等人进行演出造势。
而在本次获奖名单中，BTS 与 Lady Gaga 可说是最大赢家，前者以海外团体之姿夺得最佳团体、最佳流行歌曲、最佳韩国流行歌曲与最佳编舞四大奖，后者则是拿下最大奖「年度最佳艺人」后，凭藉与 Ariana Grande 合作的曲目《Rain On Me》，获颁最佳曲目、最佳合作与最佳摄制等奖项，此外 The Weeknd 亦有年度最佳录音带及最佳 R&B 歌曲两大奖入袋。以下便附上 2020 MTV VMA 完整得奖名单，有兴趣的读者不妨多加留意。
